Vintage Blue & White Koi Serving Bowl

Here is a  vintage Asian rice or soup serving bowl. It has a hand painted koi or “happy fish” as it is known as on the inside of the bowl. The Chinese believe that the koi is a sign of good fortune and happiness. This serving bowl is white porcelain and the koi is painted in blue. The bowls are perfect to use as a Soup Bowl, Rice Bowl, Salad Bowl, Pasta Bowl, serving stir fry, noodles, fruit, ice cream or what ever takes you fancy. It even makes a nice shelf or table piece. It is stamped on the back: Made in China RAQPING.

Please remember this is a retro or vintage piece.  Most are used and will show some signs of “normal wear” that comes with age.  We are very careful not to destroy any patina that may have formed as we think it adds to the beauty of these pieces. Of course you may want to polish or clean off the patina, and that is totally up to you. As we describe each piece if we find any flaws or defects we will point them out in the description. If we have replaced any parts or made other repairs, we will also note these in the description.
