Product Description
This vintage piece is signed “Florenza”. It is broach-necklace made in New York by Dan Kasoff who coined the name Florenza after that of his mother Florence. Florenza costume jewelry began being made in 1949 and has a distinct Victorian look. This golden visage is of exceptional quality with a slight blemish on the back that barely shows through the amber stone (see picture #2) on the top right it is a little lighter. It measures approximately 2 inches across with an faux amber center cabochon. It comes with a 20 inch twisted gold tone chain and can be worn as either a broach or a necklace. Ornate and beautiful Florenza jewelry has a distinctive look from which its nick name “Fabulous Florenza!” came from.
Please remember this is a piece of vintage jewelry and most of it is used and will show some signs of “normal wear” that comes with age. We are very careful not to destroy any patina that may have formed as we think it adds to the beauty of these pieces. Of course you may want to polish or clean off the patina, and that is totally up to you. As we describe each piece if we find any flaws or defects we will point them out in the description. If we have replaced clasps or made other repairs, we will also note these in the description.
