“Under a Watchful Eye”, In the still of a moonlit forest clearing a mother bear minds her cubs as they finish their day of play. Hand made and hand painted here is rustic art at its best!
In the still of a moonlit forest clearing a mother bear minds her cubs as they finish their day of play. “Under a Watchful Eye”, is made of reclaimed wood and repurposed metal pine trees, washed with acrylic paint and painted with a silhouette of a watchful mother bear and a pair of cubs playing as night starts to fade and the moon begins to cast her light.
Unless otherwise noted, our reclaimed wood comes from the small barn and outbuildings that we have replaced boards on. Most of the pieces will have nail holes, chips and occasionally a slight warp. All show the signs of years of weathering and are therefore very “rustic or primitive”.
We chose to keep the weathered surfaces of our wood products as we love the “character” the wood has and often use it in our designs. With all its “character” it means that there are groves, cracks and unevenness. And this means that all of the painted pictures and lettering is hand drawn and hand painted and often accentuate those “characteristics” we find so endearing. All of our painted signs and pictures have been sealed for UV and moisture resistance. Each of our rustic pictures or signs has hanging mounts on the back.
