This adorable dainty pink batiste baby dress is from the 1950’s.
This adorable dainty pink batiste baby dress from the 1950’s has a white satin stitched scalloped hem, and narrower scalloped neckline. A matching white satin stitched scallop is embroidered just below the neck and repeats at the center just above the hem. It has a tiny double stem stitched accent forming a V between the scallop trimmed neckline with a white embroidered leaf in the center. There are two white French knots embroidered just above the accents and three more down the front to the hem. At the hem line above the scallop is a little embroidered white leaf cluster and scroll work. The sleeves are puffed and finished with a narrow, scalloped edged cuff. The back-placket buttons with two buttons to a pleat at the waist. The dress has a label that reads “Philippine, Hand Made except scallop, infant”. This piece has been hand washed in non-toxic natural soap and lightly touched up with a warm iron. It is probably a size 24 month.
Condition: It is in excellent vintage condition.
Measurements: Shoulders – 9 1/2″ (seam to seam); Chest –11 1/2″ (flat underarm to underarm); Length – 14″ (top of shoulders to bottom)
