This precious, dainty blue batiste baby dress from the 1930’s has a deep, white satin stitched scalloped hem, and narrower satin stitched scalloped neckline.
This precious, dainty blue batiste baby dress from the 1930’s has a deep, white satin stitched scalloped hem, and narrower satin stitched scalloped neckline. A matching satin stitched scalloped yoke detail is embroidered just below the neck and repeats at the center just above the hem. It has a tiny double embroidered stem stitch forming a V just below the yoke and pink embroidered scroll work and a tiny pink Brazilian embroidered rose. White French knots and little pink embroidered accents run down the front. The sleeves are puffed and finished with a narrow, satin stitched scalloped edging. The back-placket buttons with two buttons to a pleat at the waist. The dress has a label that reads “Philippine, Hand Made except scallop, infant”. This piece has been hand washed in non-toxic natural soap and lightly touched up with a warm iron. It is probably a size 24 month.
Condition: It is in excellent vintage condition.
