This little hand stitched boy’s romper from the 1950’s is just adorable! It’s a pretty blue bubble romper with a white Peter Pan satin stitched scalloped collar and adjustable button waist. It has hand appliquéd white ducks on the chest and smaller blue ones on the white collar. There are two tiny white buttons just below where the collar meets in the center below the chin. The adjustable waist has elastic on the sides and a faux belt with one button across the front. The leg openings are hemmed and it has two large snaps in the crotch. It opens in the back from neck to waist and closes with two small buttons. There is a pleat at the bottom of the opening in the back to give it fullness through the behind…the bubble romper. It would be a great piece to display or to be worn by a precious little boy for a special occasion. This piece has been hand washed in non-toxic natural soap and lightly touched up with a warm iron. It is probably a 24 months.
Condition: It is in very good vintage condition. It looks like the elastic may have been replaced at one point.
Measurements: Shoulders – 9″ (seam to seam); Chest –11″ (flat underarm to underarm); Length – 15″ (top of shoulders to crotch)
Please remember this is a piece of vintage or retro clothing. Most of it is used and will show some signs of “normal wear” that comes with age. As we describe each piece if we find any flaws or marks we will point them out in the description. If we have made repairs, we will also note these in the description.
