A pretty spring dress for a pretty little girl or delightful display piece for a special little girl’s room. This beautiful pale yellow vintage 1930’s batiste dress was handmade in Philippines. It has white bias faggoted trim in a double row around the collar and a single yellow Brazilian embroidered rose with white leaves on each side. The shoulders have two tiny pin tucks on each side and one on the neckline. The sleeves have a slight puff to them and are finished with a cuff. The front of the dress has two tiny buttons in the center just below the chin. There is a delicate spray of nine tiny yellow Brazilian embroidered roses with white embroidered leaves and vines across the front. Falling from the center embroidery are six teeny tiny stem stitched decorative lines, three on each side. At the bottom of the dress there is another spray of white leaves and a two yellow roses just above its generous wide 2 ½” hem. The back of the dress has a button placket with two tiny white buttons. There is a pleat at the bottom of the placket to give the dress nice fullness. It has a matching pale yellow slip with satin scallop cord trim around the neck, arm holes and hem and closes on one shoulder with a button. The dress has a label that reads “Hand Made in the Philippines”. This piece has been hand washed in non-toxic natural soap and lightly touched up with a warm iron. It is probably a size 18 months.
