Product Description
This is an antique Edwardian oval bracelet made by John F. Sturdy’s Sons Inc.It is beautiful engraved with a floral design on the front side of the bracelet only, the back half is smooth. Beautifully designed, this oval bracelet has a tiny button at the hinge that releases the hidden slide. It was probably made in the 1930’s at the height of their bracelet popularity. This vintage piece of jewelry history is signed on the hidden slide JFSS Pat. Made by the James F. Sturdy & Sons Co of MA. established in 1865. We are assuming this bracelet is gold filled as this particular design is listed as such, but we were unable to locate a stamp on the bracelet making a reference to being gold filled.
The inside circumference of this Edwardian style bracelet is 7 1/4 inches, its inside height is about 2 1/8 inches and its inside width is about 2 3/8 inches. This bracelet is in very good vintage condition. There are some mild scratch line that come with age but it is a truly beautiful piece!
Please remember this is a piece of vintage or retro jewelry. Most of it is used and will show some signs of “normal wear” that comes with age. We are very careful not to destroy any patina that may have formed as we think it adds to the beauty of these pieces. Of course you may want to polish or clean off the patina, and that is totally up to you. As we describe each piece if we find any flaws or defects we will point them out in the description. If we have made repairs, we will also note these in the description
